I think there will be more and more AI robots in the future. B: Well, there might be a robot doctor someday. It could examine patients and cure diseases. Since it’s a computer, it could examine patients accurately. C: That would be great, but I’m afraid it would not be able to encourage patients. Anyway, I wish I could have a robot pet. B: Me, too. A robot pet doesn’t need to be taken for a walk or fed any food, so it is especially good for people who don’t spend a lot of time at home. Also, I heard that the cost of raising a robot pet is cheaper than that of raising a cat or a dog. A: That’s interesting. I think a robot teacher would be nice. With its computer brain, it would give you a lot of accurate information. Since it would not have emotions, it would be very patient. So you could ask the robot lots of questions over and over again. C: I wish I could have a robot tutor. B: There might be a robot police officer in the future. It wouldn’t get injured even if it were shot. A: Sounds like a science-fiction movie, doesn’t it? But if its computer should be damaged, it could become dangerous and might even shoot innocent people. C: Wow, that’s scary. We’ve got to make sure that never happens. A: AI technology is advancing so rapidly these days. I wonder if there will be more advanced robots in the future. B: I’m sure there will be. I’d like to see a robot police officer first of all. Real human police officers have a dangerous job in which they can be seriously hurt or even killed by criminals. A robot police officer could do a lot of dangerous work instead of humans, right? C: That’s true, but we have to make sure that those robot police officers don’t hurt any innocent people by accident, too. B: I want to see a robot doctor. I think it would never make any mistakes and give a perfect opinion about a disease or surgery every time. So, I would get the best possible medical care and live a long life! A: Sounds good. I’d like to have a robot dog that doesn’t go to the bathroom every day. That would save me a lot of time and effort. C: Right, that would be the perfect pet! I want a robot Akita-inu. B: I just thought of another kind of robot, a robot teacher. I think AI technology is good enough now that I could use a robot teacher for my schoolwork soon. A: Well, you can get better scores.
